I walk around this city a lot with my little camera always in my pocket. I see my city of Santa Fe, differently. The artwork and graffiti I find on the street is more exciting than what I currently see inside most of the galleries and museums in town. It's spontaneous and temporary. I try to capture it before it disappears forever.
Lately, I have been leaving the city to explore the natural world...

Walk This Way!

Captured these guys at the intersections of Cerrillos Road and Don Gaspar on the
Paseo de Peralta in Santa Fe.  When you do as much walking as I do around the city you
really have to watch crossing the streets here.  Even when pedestrians have the right of way,
they might end up like one of these little guys stenciled on the cross walk signals.

Winged Heart

A winged heart on a door painted the color of New Mexican skies,
see how it flies!

Whole Hearted

People hanging out one summer night in
front of Evangelo's at Galisteo and West San Francisco.
Somebody probably nervously scratched this into the paint
as they smoked a cigarette out side or talked on their
cellphone to create this work of art.

Heart of Stone

While trying not to get run over by the SUV's and their drivers
on the way to Downtown Subscription, I noticed this stone on Acequia Madre,
that looked very much like a heart.

Hearts and Bones

Stumbled upon this walking down Aztec Street, outside of the old Aztec Café, the other day.
It sucks that the Aztec Café is no longer open.
It was a great place to people watch, lots of off-beat characters hung out there and
paraded through its doors.
I had my first Santa Fe art show there in 2001.

Hydrate My Heart

Found on West Alameda near the Co-op.
Love how the cobalt colored blue flowers seem to
vibrate against the yellow of the fire hydrant.

Heart of Glass

Noticed this at the intersection of Marcy and Washington while
waiting for the light to change.

For the month of February, a heart a day until Valentine's Day!!!

Spotted on Galisteo, South Capitol neighborhood.
"Your Spirt is Free"
I think they meant to write spirit, but forgot the extra I.
They must have been in a hurry to crank these babies out.
Notice the U in the flying heart?
That's U.  Your spirit is free and it's also covered
in road dirt.
